Frequently Asked Questions | Classic Time Watches

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about orders, shipping, warranties, sizing, and the watches themselves. If you don’t see what you need here, our team is glad to help directly.

Orders & Shipping

What to expect once you place an order.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders ship within one to two business days and arrive within three to seven business days depending on your location. Every order is fully insured and requires a signature on delivery.

Is my watch insured during shipping?

Yes. Every order ships fully insured for its full retail value, so you’re financially protected in the rare event of loss or damage in transit.

Why does delivery require a signature?

Given the value of the watches we sell, we require a signature on delivery to confirm your order reaches you directly rather than being left unattended.

What happens if my watch arrives damaged?

Photograph the packaging and item exactly as received, then contact us within 48 hours. We’ll coordinate a replacement or repair at no additional cost while the insurance claim is processed on our end.

Authenticity & Warranty

How we back what we sell.

Are the watches you sell authentic?

Yes. Every watch is sourced through authorized channels and inspected before it ships. Applicable authenticity cards and manufacturer documentation are included with every order.

Do your watches come with a warranty?

Yes. Every watch ships with its applicable manufacturer warranty, along with the original box and included documentation.

Do you inspect watches before shipping them?

Yes. Beyond the manufacturer’s own testing, our team performs an additional pre-shipment inspection on every watch, checking timing accuracy, case finishing, and bracelet or strap fit before it leaves our facility.

Sizing & Fit

Finding the right case size and getting a comfortable fit.

How do I know what size watch will fit me?

Case diameter and lug-to-lug measurements are listed on each product page. As a general guide, 36 to 39mm suits smaller to medium wrists, while 40mm and above wears larger. If you’re unsure, contact us and we can help you compare against a watch you already own.

Can I adjust the bracelet or strap myself?

Many bracelets include tool-free micro-adjustment clasps, and leather straps are typically fitted with quick-release spring bars. For bracelet link removal, we recommend a local jeweler or watchmaker unless you’re comfortable using a spring bar tool.

Movements & Care

Understanding how your watch works and keeping it running well.

What’s the difference between automatic, mechanical, and quartz movements?

Automatic and mechanical movements are both powered by mainsprings rather than batteries. Automatic movements wind themselves through wrist motion, while manual mechanical movements require daily winding by hand. Quartz movements use a battery and typically require less day-to-day maintenance.

Returns & Requests

Changing your mind, or looking for something we haven’t listed yet.

Can I return a watch if I change my mind?

Return windows vary by watch and are noted on the individual product page. Items must generally be unworn and returned in original packaging with all documentation included. Contact us before starting a return so we can guide you through the process.

I can’t find the watch I want. What can I do?

Our full inventory runs deeper than what’s listed on the site. Submit a request through our Request Your Watch page and our sourcing team will check current stock, incoming shipments, and supplier availability on your behalf.
